DANCE SHOW

Sometimes following the world of skating can bring you to something that is not skating...

I had met Valeria (girlfriend of skater Andrea Vaturi - that's the connection) in a shopping mall a few days earlier, and she had invited me to come and see the dance show they were having in a theater in Sesto San Giovanni on June 10th... why not?

Actually, upon arriving at the theater, I found that it was more and more a meeting with the usual suspect of the skating world... Pompeo, the owner of the Agorà ice rink greeted me and Silvia joking "I was almost getting worried, not seeing you!" (the joke being the fact that we rarely miss any event!) - he was there because his daughter danced in the first half of the show. With him, there were the omnipresent Carlo, and Alessandro - for us "Geppetto" from the Pinocchio on Ice show... onceinside, Nives and Paolo Fusar Poli arrived as well...

We found our places and sat down for the show. The first half was a representation of the story of Pinocchio (something we know veeery well), with Marilù starring as Pinocchio... it was nic, with lots of contemporary music, lots of dancers but also several kids' groups... just a few, random pics...

Then the second half was the representation of the history of Pandora - the Greek myth about the urn which contained all the evils of the world - with Andrea playing (or is better to say "dancing"?) the role of Zeus, and Valeria as a statue of Pandora (and more apparitions).
In the first scene we even had Andrea dancing with a dancer from the La Scala theater in Milan!

I have to say that I really, really enjoyed the show, it was very well studied and there were lots of brilliant dancers! My compliments to Andrea who proved to be brilliant not only on the ice, but also on the dance floor!
