Finally the beginning of the new
season! My friends and I were really excited to finally see the first
live competition, and so with great enthusiasm we set off for Torino
(and we arrived well, no matter what the fears of my friends might have
been after - ehrm, our experiences from going to the Lancia on Ice Gala).
Actually some of them had been able to attend the CDs and ODs as well,
but we managed to attend "en masse" only the FDs.
We arrived barely in time, though, thanks to the very very long queues
at the traffic lights in Torino: we entered the Tazzoli just in the
middle of the Junior Dancers' warm-up! We took our places saying hello
to Massi's mum, to Filippo who had arrived un-plausibly early again,
to Jyrina (Mauri's girlfriend), and several well known faces from our
European experiences in Torino.
I warmed up myself trying to set my camera for the weird lights of the
rink taking a few random pics of the Juniors...

Of
course we had mostly been waiting for the Senior FDs....
at this point I grabbed both Toponiglio Franklin (Fede and Massi's mascotte)
and the funny monkey I had bought for Alessia, after she had been defined
by Andrea in a funny example during an interview "that monkey that's
my partner" (he was telling me how they create their new lifts:
playing around, imagining he was a tree and she a money hanging from
it) - see it below: I added a bit of pink make up, a bow and a necklace..
only at the competition I discovered Alessia's dress is pink!.
Of course we were all really curious about Fede and Massi's FD too.. yes, we had seen it a thousand times in practice, but in competition, uninterrupted, with costumes and prper lighting.. it's all another thing!

It was soon time for Topo to make its flight on the ice... Massi immediately noticed the new hat and mittens that Sissi's mum had knitted for him!
Award ceremony... Junior and Senior.... my camera was acting all weird, so I didn't manage to get close ups of everyone.. but I saved Serena and Simone's lilac ensembles (I love lilac) and Fede and Massi's...

Right after the ceremony Fede came up to us asking:"so, where's my
surprise??!" - we had teased her announcing that we had a surprise
in store for her, and being as curious as she is, she couldn't wait any
more! I produced my big IKEA paper bag (I had not been able to find anything
as big as it!) which she promptly teared open to discovered the pillow
I had painted in the middle of the night with Topo's image.. she could
not believe her eyes, adn absolutely loved it!!

Massi had set up a meeting with us after the ceremony, to have some pictures
taken with Topo.... and Fede has also decided to bring the pillow as well..
she was in love!!

We spent a little bit more chatting with Massi's mum:
we did a short interview for Fede and Massi's upcoming new website,
and she was so sweet... she was a bit embarassed, and at the end was
almost in tears from the emotion of all the memories she ad evoked ^_^
I just adore Massi's mum!!
Soon after that, we hopped back in my care and drove back home.. but,
as crazy as we are, as soon as we found out that we were in time for
Babi and Mauri's practices
at the Agorà rink.. we went there as well!
